Phew! We have been having a tremendous heat wave here in Sebastopol this week!
We are not used to temperatures in the 90s. The best part is that it makes for perfect beach weather. We live just 8 miles from the ocean, and truth be told, it is often so windy and cold at the beach that it’s not appealing to hang out there. But this weekend it was hot, with no wind, and that made for a perfect day at the beach!
Our favorite is where Salmon Creek runs into the ocean, and there’s a great calm area where the kids swim all day long. This day it was packed, but still really open and enjoyable.
I’m looking forward to leaving tomorrow for our annual trip to the foothills of the Sierras for the Northern California Dance Collective’s Summer Dance Camp.
We’ll spend a week dancing, playing, swimming in the lake, connecting with friends, meeting new friends, and enjoying time away from the computer! I’ve been since 1998, when I first met my husband, Geej. I’ve seen children born and growing, marriages made and broken, old jobs left behind and new business and endeavors emerge in the lives of my friends over the years.
So much happens when you’ve known people for a long time, and this is particularly precious to me since I have moved a lot in my life. I’ll send you some pictures from the dance floor . . .
