Are you experiencing the waves of 2012, extremes intensifying, intensity amplifying, and change accelerating? Chinese astrology tells us that a dragon year brings good fortune, and the water dragon brings powerful creativity. Certainly this dragon year brings huge opportunity for those willing to look clearly, speak truthfully, act with integrity, take full responsibility for one’s own life, and step into the magnificent truth of who you really are.
Harry Potter, with friends Hermonie and Ron, ride a blind dragon from the depths of Gringott’s Bank–a place said to be impenetrable. Having obtained not wealth, but an object they need to destroy in order to ensure the demise of the dark lord, the three teenagers free a chained dragon as their only means of escape. Riding upward through the tunnels, out into the sky, they cling to a wild beast seeking its freedom. Their destinies linked, the four do the impossible, and all live to contribute all they can to the highest good of all. The immense popularity of this series speaks to the call within you, within all of us, to touch the bravery within and to that which we think we cannot do.
The guidance I have received for more than a decade now is that this is the lifetime in which all of the lifetimes can be healed. That’s what makes this time–and particularly this portal of 2012–so intense, so exciting, so promising, so challenging, and so terribly potent and important. If you are paying attention, even a little bit (as Abraham would say), you know that something big is up. You may not know what it is, and we may not really know even in our lifetimes. But called forth you are, called forth to ride the dragon. You and I are among those privileged to be born into this time, to help seed the energy of the New World Age now emerging.
This requires the very best of us.
At my Counsel Fire retreat recently with my high end clients I shared with them from the work of two of my primary teachers, Sanaya Roman and her guide, Orin. Their book, Spiritual Growth, was first published in 1986. Its wisdom is even more apparent today than then. This is from the introduction:
“Wave upon wave of higher consciousness is coming. . . As new waves first come they may be felt as turbulence; they make shake things up in your life so you can make changes that will allow you to go even higher. . . Many people will reject these shifts in the beginning, for to incorporate them may mean a complete change in the way they perceive and live their lives. . . Some may try to hold onto the old and find that doing so is an increasing struggle. . . Some people have to experience a high level of struggle and pain before they pay attention to and follow the inner messages they are receiving. . . It will no longer work to ignore those areas of your life you do not want to deal with.
This new wave of energy will have a great impact on those areas of your life that have the least clarity and harmony. This new wave adds light to your life, but you can hold light only in those places where this is clarity and harmony. You will that the areas that aren’t working become the most important for you to resolve and that doing so brings you the greatest growth” (pp. 4-5).
As you are called to ride the dragon, and you seek to find the reins on this ride, what area of your life do you need to pay attention to? What is the spotlight of 2012 making so visible to you that you can no longer ignore it?
For so many of us, it has to do with finally claiming our place in the world, standing for your truth, making your way powerfully and for the greatest good. It means letting go the paradigm of victims and perpetrators, rewriting the money stories, the beliefs in unworthiness and struggle, pain and scarcity. It means stepping out of blame and finally, finally, finally, stepping into Sovereignty.
I chose to become a business mentor because that’s my way of assisting you to step forward fully into life through the form and vehicle of a soul-inspired business. And to do that you need the business skills that you never learned, or you rejected, or you thought were for other people and didn’t fit you as a healer or transformational worker. To do that I’ve had to turn the spotlight on the places in me that want to hide, want to be loved, liked and approved of, want to be right, and so much more. And I’ve had to challenge myself to do things, go places, learn things, I never thought that I would–or even could. The journey is far from over, but I am doing my best everyday to ride that dragon, wherever it may take me. Sometimes into the darkest depths, sometimes immense beauty.
So in the LIGHT of this Wesak full moon, under the spotlight, where will you turn your gaze? What will you see? What will you be willing to meet that’s new? Not just the old stories, but a new perspective, a new belief, a new set of possibilities. A whole new world to create. Because you know what, you really do get to do that. You do. What is your journey and where will you focus your dragon within?
