Faith is the ability to believe in something without tangible evidence of it being true.
I don’t know about you, but when I was growing up, faith was something people talked about in Church. And truth be told, I didn’t much like Church as a kid. Seemed kind of depressing, except when my Sunday school teacher gave me a dime for being able to remember The Lord’s Prayer. Faith sounded like a big word, and it meant very little to me.
But even so, there were key moments when I had to have had faith to do what I did. Like when I moved across the country away from home at age 16. Or when I left my job at Columbia University without more than a prayer of what I was going to do next. I just knew I had to leave, and somewhere inside I knew I would find my way.
It was actually about that time that I began to think about and lean into faith as a friend that I needed. Wasn’t sure yet if I could rely on it, because I had no religion to go with it. No more than a burgeoning spirituality actually. But I did have that, and that’s when opening up and relying on a higher power first became conscious for me.
I’ve been in business ever since, more than 15 years. You may have heard me tell the story that Bob Proctor introduced me to metaphysics and changed my life forever. And funny as it may seem, Proctor is a huge man of faith.
And Faith is needed more now than ever. Particularly if you are in business.
