Last week my family and I spent a lovely few days on the shores and environs of Lake Tahoe. My favorite day we took a hike through the mountains above Tahoe, filled with pine trees, white granite rocks, chipmunks, hawks, and even a sweet alpine lake to dip our feet into. Emma hiked 6.5 miles with us—a first!
And for the first time in a longer time, I imagined water skiing! I have never been—and next summer on Tahoe I will. I grew up on Lake Washington in Seattle, watching people water ski. In my family, such things were frowned upon, but I secretly always wanted to do it. My family’s money story ran deep enough in me that I never thought too seriously about making it happen—until last week! So look for my photo skiing on Tahoe next summer . . .
We’re getting ready for school here at home, and gathering our harvest from the summer for focused work in the fall and winter. I’m looking forward to facilitating my longest retreat of the year—five days!—over Labor Day weekend. It’s a perfect way to gather the energy after the expansion of summer. I’ve got quite a bit planned for fall, so stay tuned for more details. I hope to see you—in person—in a city near you soon.
