Spring has sprung here in Sebastopol! Today it’s supposed to reach 80 degrees! Flowers are blooming, hens are laying, and with day light savings the days are ending later and later (and mornings come earlier–yawn!).
It’s my birthday month–and I love the Spring. It’s my favorite time of year. And as we head into the Equinox next week, we enter the most expansive time of year. Can you feel the rising energy, the bursting forth of life?! Yes, I can.
AND I can also feel the contraction inside of me, particularly after coming back from vacation! Getting focused again, writing and teaching, getting ready for the retreat I’ll be facilitating for the Creating Money Circle next week. Fortunately I love what I do, so I can find a place of enjoyment in the contraction, too.
I find it helpful to remember that expansion and contraction are inextricably bound together–one always follows the other. Nothing is wrong when the contraction comes. And when I’m in the contraction, the expansion will come again. Cycles are a natural part of our experience on the earth plane. Ebb and flow, growth and disintegration, around and around we go!
That’s another reason I so love Spring–the expansion after the contraction of winter. If there were no winter, would the spring be as sweet? I don’t think so..
