Because as a visionary entrepreneur – you have an idea of what change you would like to see in the world – or what you want to create that hasn’t been created yet. And you know that takes power. But maybe you also have negative associations with power – power being used coercively either on a grand scale in war or even in the abuse within families. I get it – there has been a lot of abuse of power, large and small.
AND I truly believe that in order for us to usher in the New World that we are the ambassadors of (and we are, remember that), then we MUST learn the right use of power. Not power over – but power to create, power to influence toward a higher good, power to express and believe – and also power to listen deeply so that together we can create that New World that we long for.
I’ve been studying and exploring power since I was a kid growing up during the Civil Rights Movement and then the Feminist Movement. Later I became a professor studying and teaching about resistance to slavery in the United States and how women and men commanded the right use of power to persuade and influence and lead our country into greater freedom.
We all know that the pursuit of liberty continues – and along with it the desire for joy, peace, and greater alignment and even enlightenment. We are not done – and we are the ones who have chosen to explore, through our visionary, soul-inspired businesses, how to continue and transform this legacy in the grand experiment of our time.
Because you and I were not born into this time by mistake. We chose to be born now when the challenges and opportunities of humanity are expanding and accelerating. You are experiencing in the microcosm of your own life and business these challenges and opportunities:
- Do I live from abundance – which I profess to believe in – or do I live from scarcity and shortage mentality?
- Do I live from love, seeking ways to express love in whatever I do, or do I live from fear and allow fear to dominate my perspective and my choices?
- Do I defend and protect myself, or do I live from the understanding that inside lies my safety, and that whatever happens as a soul I am safe?
- Do I make my creativity and my spiritual connection my priority, or do I choose to follow others and fit in?
- Am I using my life-force energy, my essential core power, against myself (as with fear) or for myself (as with positive vision and love)?
I find it extraordinarily difficult to actually live from what I say I believe. Conditioning runs so deep – and even though I know this is lifetime in which the wounds and patterns of all the lifetimes can be healed and evolved, I still find the path difficult to walk at times. That is why I am so committed to connecting with you – because having all of us in this together makes such a huge difference –
We rise together!
But it’s not easy, and none of us know all the answers. I certainly don’t, even though I have dedicated my life to creating greater freedom for myself and those I work with.
I am, however, good at asking questions, and at developing tools and systems that enable us in this grand experiment. I am so glad that you have come along with me as far as you have in developing this conversation – one that feeds our souls as well as our reputations and (I hope) our bank accounts.
All of this is needed – for being able to extend our reach beyond our physical presence is immensely beneficial in helping to create our New World. Influence, resources, revenue – all are needed to make the impact that you so long for.
And when you know the right use of power – for you in any situation in your business – everything you do and everything you’ve learned makes more sense and your contribution flows. You make a bigger impact, you make more money – all with less effort, because you are using your power rightly for you.
